Some of the best vacation memories aren’t necessarily the ones you plan.
They’re the moments when the whole family laughs so hard that nobody remembers who was winning. The first date that becomes part of a much bigger story. The birthday party everyone still talks about years later. Or the rainy afternoon when you wandered into a bowling alley looking for something to do—and ended up having one of the best days of your trip.
Those are the kinds of moments Andy B’s was built for.
Located at Branson Landing, Andy B’s Bowl Social is much more than a place to bowl. It’s a gathering place where families, couples, friends, coworkers, and groups can eat, play, compete, celebrate, and simply spend time together.
But behind all that fun is a story that began decades ago with one young boy who simply loved to bowl.
A Dream Born on the Lanes
Long before there was an Andy B’s, there was Andy Bartholomy, “Andy B”—and bowling was already a huge part of his life.
As a young boy, Andy fell in love with the game and devoted countless hours to becoming a better bowler. Eventually, that dedication led him into professional competition, where he bowled for prize money and began building a life around the sport he loved.
Then an injury changed everything.
A serious wrist injury brought Andy’s professional bowling career to an end and forced him to consider a difficult question: If he could no longer make a living competing in the sport he loved, how could he find another way to make bowling his career?
The answer ultimately changed the course of his life.
In 1988, using money he had saved from competitive bowling, Andy purchased his first bowling center—Coach Light Lanes in Marshfield, Missouri.
Those early years required plenty of hard work.
“I literally lived at work—and I loved it,” Andy recalls.
What could have been the end of his bowling story instead became the beginning of something much bigger.
When One Door Closes, Another Lane Opens
More than three decades later, that first bowling center has grown into the Andy B’s experience guests know today.
And looking back, Andy sees the injury that once seemed like such a devastating setback very differently.
“Having a career-ending injury was actually the best thing that ever happened to me.”
There’s something pretty wonderful about that perspective.
The dream changed, but the passion behind it didn’t. Instead of competing on the lanes himself, Andy found a way to create places where thousands of other people could discover the fun, competition, camaraderie, and connection that first made him fall in love with bowling.
And in Branson, that idea has evolved far beyond the lanes.
More Than Bowling
Of course, bowling is still at the heart of Andy B’s.
The luxury lanes offer plenty of opportunities for a little friendly competition, whether you’re an experienced bowler or someone who considers breaking 100 a major accomplishment.
But you don’t have to put on bowling shoes to have a great time here.
Head to the arcade and challenge the kids—or discover that the adults in your group are every bit as competitive. Put your problem-solving skills and teamwork to the test in one of the escape rooms. Or simply grab a table, order something delicious, and enjoy watching everyone else play.
That variety makes Andy B’s especially appealing when you’re traveling with a group where everyone has a different idea of what constitutes “fun.”
At Andy B’s, there’s room for all of it.
Come Hungry, Leave Happy
And then there’s the food.
Andy B’s isn’t the kind of bowling alley where dining is an afterthought. Food and drinks are an important part of the social experience.
The menu includes shareable appetizers, handcrafted burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, cocktails, and plenty of choices for settling in around the table before, during, or after the fun.
That makes it just as easy to turn a few games of bowling into an entire evening out.
Bowling and dinner with the family. Drinks and an escape room for date night. Arcade games and pizza with the kids. A little friendly competition among coworkers.
The possibilities are almost endless.
Made for Celebrating
Some occasions deserve more than dinner and a cake.
Birthdays, reunions, corporate outings, team celebrations, date nights, and family gatherings all become a little more memorable when everyone is actually doing something together.
With bowling, arcade games, escape rooms, dining, a full-service bar, and private event spaces all in one location, Andy B’s makes it easy to turn a gathering into an experience.
And sometimes those experiences become traditions.
A family visits during vacation one year and comes back the next. A couple returns to the place where they had one of their first dates. Kids grow older but still insist that Andy B’s has to be part of the Branson itinerary.
That’s when a business becomes more than a place you visit.
It becomes part of your story.
Where Memories Roll
Maybe that’s the most fitting legacy of the young bowler who once wondered what he would do after an injury ended the career he had planned.
Andy Bartholomy found another way to stay connected to the sport he loved. But along the way, he created something much bigger than bowling.
He created places for people to connect with each other.
And in a destination like Branson—where families come specifically to spend time together—that feels like a pretty perfect fit.
So bowl a game. Try an escape room. Challenge the kids in the arcade. Order something delicious. Laugh when someone rolls a gutter ball. Celebrate the strike nobody expected.
And somewhere along the way, you might create one of those vacation memories you didn’t know you were going to make.
