African penguins have officially arrived!
These curious, charismatic new residents are already making themselves at home in their brand-new exhibit, where guests can watch them swim, splash, explore, and, of course, waddle their way into everyone’s hearts.
But the penguins are only the beginning. This week’s Wonder Wednesday takes us inside a place where watching wildlife from a distance simply isn’t enough. At Branson’s Wild World, the goal is to bring guests closer to the animal kingdom through experiences that create curiosity, connection, and memories you’ll be talking about long after your visit.
Meet Branson’s Newest Stars
There’s something almost impossible to resist about a penguin.
Maybe it’s the waddle. Maybe it’s their seemingly endless curiosity. Or maybe it’s watching them effortlessly transform from slightly awkward walkers on land into graceful swimmers the moment they hit the water.
Whatever the reason, the new African penguins at Branson’s Wild World are quickly becoming guest favorites.
The new exhibit is included with general admission, giving visitors a front-row seat to watch these playful birds throughout their day.
And even more penguin adventures are on the horizon. Wild World is developing exclusive penguin encounters that will give guests opportunities to get even closer, including feeding and swimming experiences.

The otters eagerly approach the glass and use their remarkably nimble paws to reach through a small opening for their treats. Guests get to watch their excitement from just inches away as the otters chatter, splash, scamper around, and eagerly await the next bite.

Behind many of Wild World’s continually evolving experiences is owner and designer James Kelly, a St. Louis native who has created more than 300 immersive attraction projects in over 30 countries.
Today, he and his wife, Lisa, call Branson home, and Wild World has become a passion project where there always seems to be another idea waiting around the corner.
Ask James what inspires the constant changes, new experiences, and additions, and his answer is refreshingly uncomplicated:
“I do it ’cause it’s fun.”
